Introducing Spirit Shred

In these days of youtube fitness stars, we think of a “shred” as an intense time period of getting fit. Shred your waist, your upper arms, your thighs. But what about your spirit? 

In the five day Spirit Shred, you’ll strengthen your spirit – rejuvenate your spiritual self, reconnect with the Infinite Wisdom within you. Each day of the shred begins with a warm up: an invocation. You’ll then sink into your meditation, and wrap up with a mantra to carry through your day.

For the Shred, I will use the words God, the Divine, and Infinite Wisdom to refer to the Higher Power or Infinite Intelligence within you, but please use the word or phrase that works for you. This shred is for anyone who wants to renew or reconnect to their own spiritual self.

When we do body fitness routines, we know that the word “shred” implies that we will feel the workout later – that good soreness that comes from pushing your own physical boundaries. We are aware of our muscles for the whole day, and even feel them the next. Likewise, in the five day Shred we want to push our own spiritual boundaries and be aware of our connection to God for the whole day. We will accomplish that through daily practices that connect to the day’s meditation.

To do the Shred, commit to finding 15-20 minutes to nourish and grow your own spiritual connection. It’s a commitment to make room for the gifts of the spirit to emerge in your life.  Five days of committing to creating room for the gifts of the spirit to emerge in your life.

This particular Spirit Shred has five elements: connecting to God, gratitude, praise and wonder, surrender, and mystery.
